Overseas Travel Awards ESA
Council has decided to institute a number of overseas travel awards. The funds
to support these awards have been generated from the generous profit the Society
made by hosting the ICE2000 meeting in Sydney. The purpose of these awards is
to provide younger members of the society with the opportunity to travel to an
overseas meeting in order to further their careers. Preference will be given to
members who are undertaking advanced training in endocrinology, or are enrolled
in or are within five years of obtaining a higher degree (PhD or MD). Presentation
of their own work at the overseas meeting will also be viewed favorably in the
selection criteria. Full details regarding application for these awards and selection
criteria will soon be posted on the ESA website. The anticipated closing date
for the first round of applications for these awards is June 30, 2002.
ESA council would like to thank the LOC of ICE2000 for the products of their hard
work which have allowed this initiative. <<
