Member Honours Have
you heard that one of our members has received an honour, award or promotion?
Give us the details and we will include it in the next edition. Steve
Judd Stephen
Judd was the recipient of a Medal of the Order of Australia in the recent Australia
Day Honors. Steve has been head of the Endocrinology and Diabetes service at
Flinders | |
Medical Centre since 1979 and since 1996 also head of the Reproductive Medicine
service. He has had a particular interest in education and training in endocrinology.
In this capacity, he has held a number of positions with the RACP, including the
Clinical Examinations Committee, the Board of Censors and the Research Advisory
Committee. He was responsible for initiating the Clinical Weekend meeting for
the Endocrine Society of Australia and continues to contribute to this and other
Society meetings. He has held a number of positions with the ESA and was Vice
President in 1998. |
Rob
McLachlan Rob
was the recipient of the 2002 Eric Susman Prize for the Royal Australasian College
of Physicians. This award is for the best contribution to the knowledge of any
branch of internal medicine (adult medicine or paediatrics). Evan
Simpson Evan
has been nominated for the position of Vice President (Basic Scientist) of the
Endocrine Society (US). This is a new position within this Society and we hope
that Evan receives the appropriate support when elections are held shortly. This
will be two Australians (John Funder is currently serving on the Council) who
hold senior positions with our sister society: an extraordinary achievement and
recognition of the standing of our senior members in the international endocrine
community.
