Membership
Membership to
the ESA permits access to all meetings, awards, additional national
and international information, and a quarterly Newsletter. See your
local Council member, or contact the ESA
Secretariat in the RACP offices in Sydney.
Society
goals:
- To promote
the advancement and dissemination of knowledge in endocrinology.
- To promote
interest in and improve the clinical practice of endocrinology.
- To promote
basic and clinical research into endocrinology.
- To hold scientific
meetings of basic and clinical endocrinologists.
Eligibility:
Any medical
graduate, scientist or health care professional with interests
in
endocrinology is eligible for membership of the Society. Student
membership is available for bona fide full-time postgraduate
students of an institute approved
by Council.
Nominations
for membership must be accompanied by a completed Application
for
Membership form including the name of one proposer and the first
year's subscription fee.
Fees:
A motion was put up at the 2008 AGM to increase subscription fees
incrementally over the next five years. The changes are in line
with the fees of other societies, and the motion was accepted by
members.. The new fees will be:
- Australian
Full members - $110.00 in 2009, then increasing $10 each year up
to $150.
- Australian
Student members - $50 in 2009, then increasing $5 each year up
to $70.
- Overseas
members - $45 in 2009, then increasing $5 each year up to
$65.

Constitution:
The
Society is governed by the eight members of its Council who are
elected
every two years by a ballot of the membership in accordance
with the Constitution.
