Annual Scientific Meeting 2002

Society for Reproductive Biology and the Endocrine
Society of Australia 22–25 September 2002

These meetings will be held at the newly extended Adelaide Convention Centre in downtown Adelaide. Our former Premier and Tourism Minister opened it just a few weeks ago. The centre is really excellent.

Mike Pickford is the conference organiser again this year, and our local organising committee consists of Tony Roberts, Jeremy Thompson, Hamish Eaton, Wendy Ingman, Rob Gilchrist and myself. The program Chairs Leon Bach and Kate Loveland will also contribute to the planning of the local events.

The University Games will be held in Adelaide the same week as our meetings. Since a large number of students will attend these games budget accommodation may be tight, and we are moving quickly to ensure that we reserve some for ourselves.

The accommodation costs should be lower than last year and certainly lower than in the other major capital cities. Of course travel to Adelaide is always convenient and cheap, and the venue is only 15 minutes from the airport, as is everything else in Adelaide. The registration fee, however, may be slightly higher this year.

We have set ourselves some goals. One is to work more closely with the Australian Diabetes Society and the Australian Diabetes Educators Association. They are using the same conference organiser as us.

We are looking forward to seeing you in Adelaide.

Convenor
Ray Rodgers
