As an innovation for 2002, the ESA Seminar will be held in conjunction with the Neuroendocrine Tumour Symposium (Friday 5 April), organised by the Australasian Neuroendocrine Tumour Interest Group (ANTIGR). The symposium will address research and management issues relating to neuroendocrine tumours such as carcinoid. The symposium will be of relevance to endocrinologists, gastroenterologists, oncologists and endocrine surgeons.

The symposium will be held on Friday morning with a neuroendocrine theme extending into the Friday afternoon session of the ESA Seminar. Therefore, both Friday morning and Friday afternoon will be of interest to ESA members as well as members of ANTIGR. In keeping with the Friday morning start, there will be a welcome dinner for the Neuroendocrine Tumour Symposium on the Thursday night in addition to the usual welcome dinner on the Friday night and the main ESA dinner on the Saturday night.

We have chosen the Hotel Grand Chancellor as venue, it being close to the city centre and on Hobart’s historic waterfront. In addition to the academic program a wide range of social and recreational activities are planned. Tasmania is a fantastic holiday destination. As the meeting is the weekend following Easter, there is the potential to spend some additional time enjoying Tasmania’s environment, activities and lifestyle. We look forward to seeing you in Hobart for a stimulating meeting and enjoyable social program.
