for New and Prospective Advanced Trainees in Endocrinology in Australia
Requirements
to satisfy advanced training in Endocrinology
Of the three
years of essential Part II training, one or (preferably) two years
must be in a clinical job equivalent to being sole senior Registrar
in a busy teaching Hospital covering a wide range of adult Diabetes
and Endocrinology case work.

ESA
Meetings
Three meetings
are organised by the ESA annually:
- The Annual
Scientific meeting (ASM) is the premier meeting, rotating
around the capital cities, with invited world-expert lecturers
giving
Plenary sessions, focussed topic reviews, and scientific presentations
by clinicians and basic scientists in oral and poster fora.

- The Clinical
Weekend usually precedes the ASM, and is a valuable
learning venue for new and experienced clinicians, with challenging
cases being
selected for open, small group discussion and expert opinion
by local and invited clinicians. See ESA

- The Seminar
meeting for Physicians and Scientists is held each year
that does not include an International Congress in Endocrinology
(3 out
of 4 years), and aims to cover all topics in clinical endocrinology
in a review format over the three year span. These meetings
are
