The purpose is to support younger ESA members to travel to **international meetings** to present an abstract, and visit laboratories and/or clinics, to further their training. **Three awards of $3,500 each** will be granted. Travel must take place within **12 months** of the submission deadline.
Eligibility
The applicant must:
Be a financial **ESA member**.
Possess a higher degree (MD or PhD) and be within **5 years full time equivalence** of the award of that degree (recognizing career disruption) **OR** be currently enrolled in a research higher degree program.
Be **presenting an abstract** at a recognized international endocrinology meeting.
Not be a previous recipient of this award.
Preference is given to applicants who are **active members** of the society (e.g., evidenced by attendance and presentation at ESA meetings).

A copy of the abstract (or a summary of the research if the abstract is not yet available; acceptance will be required before funding transfer).

Selection and Presentation
Applications are assessed by a Selection Committee. The recipient must **acknowledge the financial support** of the Endocrine Society of Australia when presenting their work.

Conditions of Award (Former)
The purpose of this award was to support researchers from the Asia-Oceania region to travel and present an abstract at the **ESA Annual Scientific Meeting**. A maximum of **five awards of AUD$1,000 each** were granted, which also included complimentary conference registration and a ticket to the conference dinner.

ESA Australian Women in Endocrinology (AWE) Travel Awards

Conditions of Award
The purpose is to provide financial support to **younger women** in endocrine-related training/research to present their work at the **USA ENDO Meeting** (July 12-15 in San Francisco, CA in 2025). The value of the award is **up to $1,000**.
Successful applicants are invited guests of AWE at the AWE Reception and are reimbursed for the cost of the WE dinner ticket at ENDO.
Eligibility
The applicant must:
Be the **presenting author** on an abstract accepted for presentation at the Endocrine Society meeting (USA).
Be a financial member of ESA and a current registered member of the **Australasian Branch of Women in Endocrinology (AWE)**.
Be a Postdoctoral Trainee (within **5 years** of PhD completion; recognizing career disruption) **OR** a PhD student at an Australian or New Zealand institution.
Attend the **AWE awards ceremony** at the Welcome Function of the ESA annual scientific meeting.
Preference will be given to those also presenting their work at the ESA annual scientific meeting. Preference is also given to Postdoctoral trainees within 3 years of PhD completion and PhD students in their 3rd or 4th year of training.

ESA-SfE Exchange Program

Conditions of Award
The purpose is to **foster collaborative research** by enabling ESA and SfE (Society for Endocrinology, UK) members to visit overseas researchers. The award provides subsistence and travel costs for a research-led placement, typically around **4 weeks**, in the host country (Australia or UK), which **coincides with the host country's annual scientific meeting**. The planned project must relate to an area of endocrinology.
The award totals **$AU7,000 / £4,000** to contribute to flights, visas, accommodation, and material transfer. A full report and a short article for member newsletters are required within 3 months of completion.
Eligibility
The applicant must:
Be a member of **ESA or SfE** for at least 12 months.
Be within **15 years (full-time equivalent)** of a higher qualification (PhD, MD, FRACP/MRCP).
Be able to **present an existing body of research** at the host country's Annual Scientific Meeting.
Have ethics approval (if appropriate) by the time of award commencement.
A successful applicant cannot reapply for this Award.

ESA/KES Exchange Travel Award

Conditions of Award
The purpose is to contribute to travel costs to **present an abstract** at the annual **Seoul International Congress of Endocrinology and Metabolism (SICEM)/Korean Endocrine Society (KES) Annual Scientific Meeting**. The award will be **up to $AUD3,000**.
Eligibility
The applicant must:
Be a financial **ESA member**.
Be scheduled to attend the SICEM/KES meeting and **present an abstract**.
Preference is given to **early career researchers** (up to 10 years post higher degree, allowing for career interruptions).
